Q. How secure is the technology behind Prestige Falcon?
A. The key component of the Prestige Falcon system is the unique Heat Detector which has been in use Worldwide for the last decade. It is used as a primary method for providing an early warning fire prevention system in numerous high value, high risk locations such as Windsor Castle and The Globe Theatre.
Q. Has the Prestige Falcon system undergone any product testing?
A. The Prestige Falcon is currently the only system of this kind to have successfully completed intensive testing at the Chiltern International Fire Laboratory, supervised by the International Fire Consultancy (IFC). Also present at this testing were the National Society of Master Thatcher's. Confirmation of testing can be provided on request.
Q. What are the benefits of having a Prestige system installed?
A. Our customers experience the security and peace of mind of knowing that their property is securely protected from the threat of fire. In addition insurance providers will offer discounts ranging from 10% to 40% for customers who have Prestige Falcon installed.
Q. How long does it take to install?
A. Installation takes between 4 - 6 hours.
Q. Will the installation of Prestige Falcon cause disruption to my property?
A. No, at Prestige all our engineers are trained and experienced to work in high value domestic and commercial building. They are therefore experienced in concealing our cabling within the building fabric wherever possible, so disruption to your property is minimal.
Q. Can it be installed into any property?
A. Yes, the Prestige Falcon can be installed in any thatched roof property - whether residential or commercial. It is no more intrusive than installing a standard intruder alarm system.
Q. How do I know my property is protected 24hrs a day from the threat of fire?
A. All Prestige systems are continually monitored 24/7 by our remote Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Our systems are intelligent and use data communication between your premises and our ARC. We take daily readings to monitor the mains power supply, the standby battery, your external telephone connection and our entire electrical detection / prevention system.
Q. What happens if there is a fire and I am not home?
A. In the event of a critical heat rise or a defect has arisen with your system then the internal control unit will automatically sound an internal warning and at the same time it will transmit the data to our ARC will then follow the appropriate emergency action plan. Firstly the home / business owner will be contacted and instructed to extinguish the heat source. If you cannot be contacted your nominated key holder will be contacted and given the same instructions. If there is no response the ARC will phone the local fire brigade in order to deal with the fire threat.
Q. Do I receive any written Certification after purchase?
A. Once your installation has been completed our customer service department will issue you with a Certification of Installation which you should send to your Insurance Provider to ensure you receive your insurance discount - valid annually whilst system is being monitored.
Q. How much does the system cost?
A. The system fully installed for one chimney is £599 + VAT. Additional chimneys are £249 + VAT.
Q. Can I incorporate any other detection devices - such as smoke detectors into the system?
A. Yes we can incorporate many other fire prevention devices as and when required, together with incorporating a full security Intruder alarm.
Q. Is the system guaranteed?
A. The system is fully guaranteed for parts and labour whilst there is a service and maintenance agreement in place.
